I logged dive #1500 . . .
. . . this week and still managed to photograph two critters I have never seen before. Last week I had my first encounter with a larval Dotterel Filefish while black water diving. This week I photographed a juvenile for the first time ever at Blue Heron Bridge (yes, they really swim nose down like that). I also found this Tidal Spray Crab (check out the hearts on the elbows) while snorkeling at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park. Another first! This is why I love this sport. You never know what you are going to find.
The only smart place to be this time of year is in the water and we had lovely conditions, so we did plenty of snorkeling and diving this week. Here are a few more of my favorites from this week around the ‘hood. Click on an image to view it full screen.
