As it turns out, I did no have to be all that fast. The bird that Carl was excitedly calling about, this Rosy-Faced Lovebird, spent the best part of the week around our feeders and birdbath. Alas, he (could be a she - the sexes look the same) has now moved on. While they are native to Africa, there are a few established feral populations in the US. None, however, are here in Florida so this guy is probably an escaped pet. He seemed perfectly at home among the Mourning Doves and looked happy and healthy. Hopefully he will enjoy a long life around the ‘hood.

I have been watching a YouTube video series by B&H Photo on street photography. Although it is not a genre I pursue, it is still interesting and the presenter is one of my favorites. Thus inspired, I decided to try my hand at the Florida version. This was the result.

As an interesting side note, the last photo is a larval Pearlfish. They are free swimming as larva. Adults of most species live symbiotically inside various invertebrate hosts, including inside the anus of Sea Cucumbers. So, if you are having a bad day, just be glad you are not a Pearlfish.
