Whoa! What happened here?
This week diving went from wonderful to what the heck? The water went from 82 degrees and relatively clear to 73 degrees and very hazy almost overnight. We toughed it out on Tuesday and Wednesday, then gave up all hope and skipped Thursday. On Friday, we went paddling.
All of that being said, I still had fun (while freezing my a$$ off). It only takes one good critter encounter to make my day, and we found plenty of cool stuff. The highlight on Wednesday was time spent with a Caribbean Reef Squid. It could not have cared less that I was there. In fact, I think it was preening for me. It posed in all kinds of positions, changed colors a few times and, eventually, I decided I was cold enough and moved on.
