Baby Birds are So Dang Cute!
This week we headed to Green Cay Wetlands in the hope of seeing a baby Pied-billed Grebe riding on its mother’s back. While we did not see this behavior, thanks to a fellow birder who showed us where to look, we did find the baby Grebe and it’s mother. This has to be the most beautiful baby bird I have ever seen!
Baby birds were everywhere this week. We saw more at Green Cay and I found some Mottled Ducks in our neighborhood. We also got to see the Eastern Screech Owl at Green Cay for the first time this year and I made a new friend, who was so close I had to take the picture with my phone. SpaceX rocket launch over Port St. Lucie
I am not a fan of the MUSKrat, but it is fun to watch the SpaceX rocket launches, which we can view from our driveway. This week we saw one of the best ever. We got to see the separation of the first stage and this (shot with my phone), which is called a Jellyfish. It happens when it is dark out, but the sun is still lighting the upper layers of the sky.
