Small-in-the-frame photography
. . . is “a style where your subject occupies a tiny portion of the overall image, allowing the environment to play a significant role.” This technique can be taken to extremes, rendering the subject almost unrecognizable, and when used that way I am not a fan. I prefer its use in moderation, like this shot of a Limpkin taken at the park around the corner from home. I just loved the way the trees were reflected in the retention pond framing the bird with their trunks. In a perfect world, he would have been looking left (into the frame) instead of right.
