Otterly fantastic!
That is what this week’s trip to Peaceful Waters proved to be. We were lucky enough to see not one, but two different otter families frolicking in the pond. These are last years pups with mom. Cuteness overload! One actually came so near to us, it was too close for my lens to focus. Otters are fast swimmers and can stay submerged up to eight minutes. They are also fast on land achieving speeds of up to 15 mph!

We had another week of great weather and took full advantage. While the otters were the highlight this week, we also saw plenty of birds at both Peaceful Waters (Wellington FL) and Wakodahatchee Wetlands (Delray Beach FL) where Wood Stork nesting season is in full swing. Koko spotted the little green visitor on the back wall of our house. Click on an image to view it full screen.
Panoramic view from the boardwalk at Wakodhatchee Wetlands. Almost every white bird is a Wood Stork!
