At long last . . .
Tricolored Heron looking like a ballerina.
. . . it was cool enough this week to allow us to get back to our bird friends. While most of this week’s images were taken at Peaceful Waters Sanctuary where birds in flight figured prominently, our week started with a flight of a different kind. Early Monday morning we joined our neighbors in our driveway to watch the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch of the Bandwagon mission. The launch was delayed by half an hour so we did not get as spectacular a jellyfish as the one we missed last week, but the trajectory brought it right past the house, so it was still pretty cool. The bright spot behind the main rocket is the booster uncoupling and returning to Earth. This was the 19th launch for this booster.
Here are a few of my favorites from Peaceful Waters. As usual, you can click on an image to view it full screen.
