Greetings from Iceland!

It is too difficult to do a blog post on my iPad, so you will have to wait until next week when we are back home to enjoy tales from our travels. In the meantime, I wanted to share at least one picture. These are two Icelandic Horses, a breed that has remained largely unchanged since 1000 AD when they stopped allowing horses to be imported into the country. These horses, descendants of those brought here by the earliest settlers, are a unique breed known for their very smooth gate. They do export horses, but once a horse leaves Iceland, it cannot come back. Another interesting fact is that every horse has an owner and is microchipped. While they roam freely in the fields, there are no wild horses in Iceland. There is approximately one horse for every 4 people!
