HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We did not usher in 2026 at midnight. At that moment in time I was checking my eyelids for light leaks. Instead we greeted the new year by watching the sunrise at the beach while eating a picnic breakfast. I should note, here in sunny Florida, it was only 42 degrees Fahrenheit on New Year’s morning. Despite that, we were not alone. We had plenty of company both human and feathered.

For me New Year’s day was sandwiched between birdwatching and my first dive of the year. The weather has been awesome for the former, but exiting the water when the air temp is in the 50’s is a bit nippy. Still, this is the time of year when living in Florida doesn’t suck.
